Enter the 2012 Raw Comedy Quest!

Think you're funny? Want to be the next big thing in New Zealand Comedy? Well then, make sure to enter the 2012 Raw Comedy Quest, for your chance at fame and fabulous prizes!

Here's how:

• Sign on for an Official Heat by calling Scott on 09 373 4321 or emailing scott@comedy.co.nz
• You must be available for a Heat, a Semi-Final and the Grand Final to enter.
• If the dates don’t work for you then please don’t enter.

7 x Official Heats are on Mon 5, 12, 19 & 26 March and Mon 2, 16 & 23 April.

• All you need is 6 mins of your own original material. Anything goes.
• You may be offered more than one heat if space permits.
• There are no outright winners of each heat.
• Approx 16-18 acts will be selected from all those who perform in the Official Heats to go forward to the Semi-Finals.
• They will be split over the 2 semi-finals

Semi-Finals are on Sunday 29 April and Sun 6 May at The Classic at 7pm.

• Approx 7-8 acts will be selected from the 2 semi-finals to go forward to the Grand Final.
• They will be joined by 2 winners from the Wellington heats.

The Grand Final is on Sun 13 May at Rangatira at Q on Queen St at 7pm

• There will be 9-10 acts performing plus a Special Guest MC.
• There are 3 impartial judges , none of whom will have seen any of the acts in the Final before.
• So it all hinges of the one performance in the Final.
• They will be looking for the X FACTOR, ORIGINALITY, STAGE PRESENCE, PERFORMANCE and FUNNY!

Prizes

• The Winner receives $1500, plus the Glory and offers of further Pro work.
• The Runner Up receives $500, a little less glory and probably offers of Pro work.
• Everyone else who participates will have had an invaluable experience and will probably continue to work as comedians on the local circuit.

The regular Raw Comedy nights start again from Mon 13 Feb at The Classic. There will be 3 Raw gigs in Feb before the heats commence in March.

These gigs are a good opportunity to warm up your act.
