If you’re looking for a hilarious and mostly raunchy kiwi perspective, TM Bishop is the comedian you want to see.

I went along to Q’s Luna theatre tonight - which is pretty much around the back and ‘up the bum’ – to check out TM, the redhead kiwi ‘chuck’ from Dargaville and seemly proud of it.

TM was spurting in our faces within minutes of beginning the show and dealing blows to issues around homophobia and racism, particularly when it came to her family.

Her flow felt ‘full bodied’ and ‘confident’ as she served up her main story of a fabled vineyard trip in Dargaville (there are vineyards in Dargaville? Who knew!) and the folly that ensued. Nek minnit, enroute to New York and on to the endeavours of Big Apple dwelling. Her antic most certainly had us billowing with laughter.

She clearly had had enough of my front row chortles, ending her amazing oddity odyssey suddenly on a rather sombre yet sobering note. That’s when she knew it was home time. And she woke up and it was all a dream.

I highly recommend heading along to check it out and discover TM’s journey for yourself.
