If I’ve learned anything from Kevin McCloud from Grand Designs (and I have learnt a lot) is that I must plan something out before I do it, instead of blindly typing about him because his show is on the telly right now…It’s the whole fail to prepare, prepare to fail bollox.

When I started writing my show at this year’s festival I never imagined it would get this personal. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I knew it would be personal (it is about my fears after all) but I just thought I would just talk about Spiders and shit, not really deep insecurities and stuff.

My show was, in part, inspired by a book I read last Christmas called 'Blue Zones - Lessons For Living Longer From Those Who've Lived The Longest.' Scientists studied those places where people lived disproportionately long and quality lives.

I landed in New Zealand today. I am here in the country for the first time and am excited about the next few weeks ahead. I will be performing in Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington. As a Canadian I can already see that it is a lot like home.
