Inspired by and named after New Zealand’s much-loved legendary comedian – Billy T James, the Billy T Awards are an initiative of the New Zealand Comedy Trust with the aim to ensure the continued growth of live comedy in New Zealand.
The 2013 nominees were selected on their proven comedic ability, talent, dedication, current form and potential, and will be judged on all aspects of their Festival show. Final judging will take place at Last Laughs on Sunday 19 May.

Eli Mathewson
A nominee for Best Newcomer at last year's Comedy Festival, Eli also won Best Comedy at the Auckland Fringe in 2011.

Joseph Moore

Host of TVNZ's U Live, Rose is going to do a variety of things that are in her own words "hopefully funny and entertaining" and could include: jokes, songs, sketch, mime, magic, animal tricks, dance, roller skating, cats, political satire, funny faces, hat comedy and impressions."
