2016 Artist Liaison

A fixed term position from 11 January to 20 May 2016 based in Auckland Central.

As our Artist Liaison, you will be part of a busy team responsible for the communications, marketing & promotion of the 2016 NZ International Comedy Festival and New Zealand Comedy Trust initiatives.

Within the communications team, you will be involved in all aspects of liaison and administration for the NZ International Comedy Festival. You will be the main contact for all artist queries and will effectively co-ordinate both internally with the Festival staff and externally with wider industry to provide timely and accurate answers.

You will establish effective relationships will all stakeholders, and work collaboratively to ensure the delivery of a high quality and successful Festival.

Your attention to detail, effective time management and superior communication skills, alongside your passion for live performance will ensure success in this fast paced and fun role.

To succeed in the role you will have:

  • A passion for comedy and live performance.
  • Experience in the arts or live events industries.
  • Effective time management and administration skills, along with an eye for detail.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of self-motivation and enthusiasm.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, dedicated team.

Experience in the arts or entertainment industries will be an advantage, and a love for laughter is essential.

2016 Producer In Residence

With support from Creative New Zealand, the New Zealand Comedy Trust has an exciting development opportunity for an up-and-coming producer to join our team through our new Producer In Residence programme.

This is a 20-week role running in the lead up to the 2016 NZ International Comedy Festival and is a full time, paid position, based in our Auckland office.

The Producer In Residence will work under the internal mentorship of Lauren Whitney (internal Marketing & Promotions mentor) and Maria Deere (internal Producer & Production mentor), and they will have the support of Esther Roberts, General Manager of Indian Ink) as their external industry mentor.

Over the course of the programme, the Producer In Residence will develop their producing skills within the established framework of the Comedy Festival, supportive environment of the New Zealand Comedy Trust and guidance of the internal and external mentors. 

To create an immersive environment and ensure that the Producer In Residence is able to develop their skills to their full potential, we have identified 2 specific New Zealand Comedy Trust projects that they will take on the Producer’s role for; the Creative Comedy Initiative new work and the Next Big Things development showcases.

Additionally the Producer In Residence will be partnered with 3 independent, emerging New Zealand performers who have been programmed as part of the 2016 NZ International Comedy Festival.

We are looking to work with an emerging producer who has previous experience within the arts on 3 or more productions (either as a producer, production manager or similar role) and is interested in gaining experience, developing their skills and can demonstrate a commitment to producing as their career.

This is a fixed term position running from Monday 11 January to Friday 27 May 2016 and based in Auckland Central.
