It's giving season at the Best Christmas Comedy Show on Earth!

With 100’s of jokes, 1000’s of laughs, everyone’s favourite Comedy Festival line up show, the Best Comedy Show On Earth, is back with a Christmas twist. Kick off your silly season with a selection of some of Aotearoa’s top comedy acts at this very merry stand-up showcase, on Friday 28 November at Skycity Theatre, hosted by the delightful Chris Parker.

He’s hosted the Gala, won the inaugural Topp Prize, holds a Fred Award, took out Celebrity Treasure Island, authored a book, hosted a podcast, and performed to sold out audiences both at home and abroad. His work has made its way to Auckland Museum, onto our tellys with Double Parked, and into print named as one of the Listener’s Top 100 most intriguing people. Now, Chris Parker is back again, to take the reins of a night that’ll slay. The Best Comedy Show On Earth will be a night full of festive fun times and great comedy!

With a little something for everyone, the first comedians joining the lineup are:

Ray O’Leary. Known for his deadpan delivery and iconic grey suit, Ray’s been busy smashing it in Australia and is back from sell-outs in Edinburgh. A former Billy T nominee, beloved from the set of Taskmaster NZ, 7 Days, Have You Been Paying Attention? and the award-winning podcast, Socrates Walks Into A Bar.

James Mustapic. The second Celebrity Treasure Island champion of the night, James was twice nominated for the Billy T, and a previous winner of Best Newcomer. James is known for his hit TVNZ seriesAbandonment Issues and James Must-a-pic His Mum a Man (he successfully did!), and his webseries Repressed Memories.

Courtney Dawson. Since kicking off her comedy career, she’s won the Raw Comedy Quest, Best Newcomer at the 2024 Fest, starred in Celebrity Treasure Island and Paddy Gower Has Issues, hosted the 2024 Comedy Mixtape, written for My Favourite Dead Person, and most recently co-hosted an episode of TVNZ’s Don’t.

Henry Yan. Fresh from the 2025 Best Foods Comedy Gala, Henry was 2023’s winner of the Melbourne Comedy Fest’s RAW National Grand Final, a NZ National Raw finalist, and has shared his sharp wit at Edinburgh Fringe's So You Think You Are Funny?

Lily Catastrophe. Joining the line-up from Wellington, Lily is an award-winning comedian (including Best New Comedian at the Wellington Comedy Awards 2024) and burlesque performer, who made her NZ Comedy Fest debut earlier this year.

With even more names still to be announced, this show is the perfect chance to get in another dose of comedy before the year ends.

It’s not just about the laughs though, this festive
Best Comedy Show On Earth special is being held as a fundraiser, with all proceeds from the show going to support the New Zealand Comedy Trust. Each ticket purchased helps support the artist development work they do alongside the Comedy Festival, to create career pathways for NZ comedians.

It’s giving season, and this show is giving you heaps to laugh about!
